Why does your belly say "BOB"?

I love how kids are ALWAYS full of surprises! It never ceases to amaze me when something new, different, or totally unexpected happens! And it seems with this wild and woolly bunch I have here, it happens regularly! Like last night, for example! I wanted to get Kaleb and Kendyl on the toilet before dinner so that we didn't have any accidents, since we're now just in big kid undies during awake hours. Kendyl and I go in, do what we need to do, and then Kaleb comes in. He climbs up on the potty, does his business, and stands up. He had trouble with the getting the undies and pants up, so I was helping him. I lifted his shirt to take it out of his undies that it has just gotten stuck in, and I was greeted with "BOB"!!!! I went rushing for the camera, and walked into the kitchen with Kaleb, shirt down and said "TODD! Take a picture of Kaleb's belly when I lift his shirt!" He looked at me like I'd grown a second head, but I didn't want to give it away! I waited patiently (ok, more like giggled like a silly fool!) while he got the camera on and ready. Then I lifted the shirt for him to take a picture, and it took a second for it to register what he was looking at! He's like "bob? why does your belly say bob Kaleb?" Kaleb just said "yep!" and walked out of the room! Turns out it was all Gabriel! They'd come across some alphabet stickers that kendyl had gotten into earlier, and there weren't many letters left. But with the letters that WERE left, he could spell "bob". He was rather proud of himself!!! And I can honestly say that the LAST thing I expected to see greeting me when I helped Kaleb was "bob". They really do keep me on my toes!!!!

As far as the potty training thing goes, its going as well as to be expected I guess! They each average one accident a day. Not too bad I guess. It seems to be going a little easier than it did with the boys (as heather would say I need some wood to knock on here!) but it really seems too early to tell. We're going with the timer method, and we've come to the conclusion that 30 minutes is the farthest out we can go without an accident. So, we set the handy dandy timer on the stove, and we go potty every 30 minutes. Well, usually. If they've eaten, or have had a lot to drink, we go every 20 minutes. They're starting to get the hang of it, I think. Kendyl is even starting to ASK to go. Unfortunately she asks, and gen doesn't DO anything. I think she just likes the alone time with mommy! But, every time she asks, without fail, we go running, even if its only been 5 minutes. I'm trying to reinforce to her that yes, we will go if she says she has to go.

And then there's Kaleb. The little goof stays dry, and does really well, but he isn't asking to go yet. In fact, this morning when I got them out of their room, and was working on getting them dressed, Kendyl says "I need to go potty." I said ok, you're just a little head of mommy, but we'll go in there and go. I then told Kaleb to come with so he could go too. And he looks at me, straight face and says "but MOMMY! It isn't beeping yet!" I got a good laugh at that one! Apparently the boy can ONLY produce pee when the beeper tells him to produce pee! I'm just hoping we're headed down the right road with him, and getting him used to the idea of knowing his body, and when he DOES have to go.

I think today may be another two post day. I again, have lots to say. We'll see though!

Jamie,
For some reason I thought I had a link to your blog on mine, but alas I don't! UGH! Correcting that before I go to bed.

Glad the potty training is going well. I have had Braden in pull-ups since he was like 1.5. Just getting him use to having to pull them up and down. But haven't really been serioulsy potty training till this weekend. Today was a relatively good day. He ended up pooping in his underwear...wonderful, and peeing in every pair we put on him. but I am determined to have the boy potty trained before summer. Tomorrow is another day, and we will work some more on it then. I will have to steal your timer idea. Love that.

Too funny about the BOB on the belly. Our s just draw the words, pictures, and anything else they can on themselves. Usually with permant marker. Wonderful to try and wash off!

Now off to fix the missing link.
