This past weekend was BEAUTIFUL. The weather was FINALLY NICE! It was 62, and sunny on Saturday. Todd had to go out to his parents to work on his car and didn't know how long he'd be gone and I didn't want to sit home alone with the kids all day. So we headed out to my parents house!!!
We beat my parents out there by a good 30 minutes (since they were shopping!) And I let the kids run around the yard and play for a while!

They of course thought this was a WONDERFUL idea!!! They ran around wearing off some of the energy that's just been building in them for a while now! Then my mom and dad got home, and the FIRST thing that Dallas asked Papa was "Can I sit on your motorcycle?" My parents are awesome. They really really are. These kids have gotten to experience so much through grandpa and grandma, and i think its awesome! They get to ride motorcycles, go fishing, all the things I got to do as a kid, that Todd and I just aren't to a place to provide them yet! So, Dallas hopped up on the bike, and was soon followed by all four kids. (hence the above picture!) Then it was Kaleb's turn to start in on Papa!

He started asking papa for a ride. And since the twins were too little last summer to have anything more than my dad walking the motorcycle a little in the garage, he said ok. So Kaleb got all suited up with his jacket, the helmet, and the glasses that are required here. He hopped on in front of Papa, and around the block they went. Kaleb was a little leery at first. It wasn't so bad sitting with Papa when the motorcycle wasn't running. But when it started up, we weren't quite so sure! He did good. They only went around the block, and very slowly. I guess half way through he asked for mommy, but when he got off, he wanted to go again!!!
Then it was Gabey's turn! He was SO thrilled!

He could NOT wait to get out there with Papa! He had a permigrin on the ENTIRE time! My dad took them around a circle that is a few blocks around, and I guess Gabriel yelled "woo hoo!" repeatedly through out his ride! We could hear it some when they got back near my parents house! He was so happy he didn't want to get off at all! As you can see by the picture of him up above! He was just BEAMING! The boys count down till spring, because they just look forward to that very first ride of the year! And of course, my dad isn't going to complain to have to get the bike out!!! He loves it just as much as the kids do!
Then it was Dallas's turn! He was pretty excited too, and because he was last, he'd had the longest wait, and he could hardly let Papa slow down and get Gabe off before he was off and running to get on! He realized after they started going that there were handles down by his sides, and he decided that he was old enough to hold on there, vs. holding on to Grandpa. My dad said it was kinda weird because he couldn't really feel him back there! I guess they talked alot on the trip around, about how come they had to lean WITH the bike, not against the bike, etc! Dallas got off, and he too wanted to go again! But papa didn't want to go three more times, so we called it a day!
I bet you're wondering "what about Kendyl? where was she?" She was in "my grandma's" arms. That's what she calls my mom. Its HER grandma, and she doesn't leave her side the entire time we're with her. Kendyl didn't really want to go on a ride, but my mom offered to ride WITH her, with Kendyl in between her and my dad. (which is how they used to take the boys for a short ride when they were younger) but Kendyl didn't want to. And we didn't push the issue. The LAST thing I want is her scared of it. Eventually she'll enjoy it. But for now she's happy to watch the boys from the side lines!!!
