Brianne suggested that I give 20 facts about me, like she did, so that people could get to know me better! After thinking about it for a few minutes, I think I will!!!!
Here goes. I think I'll start with the old, and move to the new!!!!
1. I had a 13 inch ovarian cyst the day I was born. They whisked me away right after my mom delivered (yes, naturally) and did surgery. The cyst, after being removed, proved to be the size of my head as a baby. It left me with a hip to hip scar, much scar tissue, and many issues as I grew up.
2. I was my parents medical kid. I had stitches, surgeries, and lots of trips to the doctor. Funny thing is now that I'm older, I'm mostly healthy, and very rarely go to the doctor.
3. I started playing clarinet when I was in 6th grade. By the time I got to high school I was the captain of the clarinet section in the marching band.
4. Todd and I were actually best friends for two years before we started dating. I was dating a friend of his who didn't treat me very well, and on a trip to New York City, and hanging out with Todd, we threw caution to the wind, and started dating right then and there, on the marching band trip. We started our relationship with some amazing things, like seeing the Statue of Liberty, going to the top of the world trade center, seeing an AMAZING Ray Charles concert and fireworks show on the steps where the rocky movie was filmed. That was 11 years ago. Wow. Time flies!!!
5. I was only 17 when I got engaged. I didn't turn 18 until 2 months after we were engaged.
6. I was just barely 19 when I got married. I'd just found out I was pregnant, and Todd insisted that we were married before the baby came. I was 12 weeks pregnant at our wedding. My mom made my dress, it was BEAUTIFUL. There are a few things I'd change about the day, but all in all, I'm glad things happened the way they did!!!
7. I was 20 weeks 5 days pregnant with Dallas when I learned of my fate with pregnancies. I was already at 4 cm dilated, and had to have an emergency cerclage placed. This was probably one of the most terrifying times in my life, thinking I might lose my baby.
8. I've always known I wanted to be a mom. Always.
9. I wanted another baby when Dallas was only 6 weeks old, even with all the problems I faced. Dallas was only 6 months old when I found out I was pregnant with Gabe. Gabe and Dallas are 14 months 4 days apart.
10. I had secondary infertility, which resulted in my needing chlomid to get pregnant the third time. I was told there was only a 5% risk of me getting pregnant with twins. We'd decided with how hard my pregnancies were, that we'd stop at 3, even though I wanted four kids so badly. I guess God had other things in mind, and not only surprised me with kids 3 and 4, but also gave me my little girl I'd wanted SO badly.
11. I collect black bear, and moose things. I hope to one day have a log cabin theme to my living room. That is when I have one big enough to decorate properly!
12. I have un believably sensitive skin. I have to use baby soap for body wash, its that bad. Unfortunately my children inherited this trait.
13. I have three dogs . Sophie Jo is our cocker spaniel bichon mix, she's 5. Swiffer Roo is our Lhasa Apso, he's 4. Tippy Taffy is our cocker, she's 2. No, those aren't their technical names, their technical names are: Sophie, Swiffer, and Taffy. But those are the names they go by most of the time here!!
14. I also have a bird. Charolette is our cockatiel. we thought she was a she when we got her from my uncle. but I have a feeling that she's not so much a charolette, as a Charlie, given how many whistles she can repeat. She repeats the sound of our phone dialing (the beeps) She mimics my laugh, its actually rather funny! She does a few whistles we've taught her, and she's now taken to mimicking the microwave beeps as well! Her favorite food in the world is popcorn. Heaven forbid you make some and forget the bird!!! She's totally MY bird. She's kind of hard to handle, because she doesn't get out much because the kids are afraid of her flying. But we can't clip her wings or the dogs would get her. sense the catch 22?
15. I love taking pictures. And I have this small obsession with taking them of my kids!!!
16. My family of 6, plus the dogs and a bird live in a very small, way out grown house. Its only 1,000 sq. feet. Kaleb and Kendyl share a 9x8 bedroom, Dallas and Gabe share a 10x11 bedroom, as do Todd and I. The rest of our living spaces are really small too. We're hoping to fix this this summer with a move.
17. I refuse to wear clothes that are too tight. If you can see any form of a roll, or a bulge, I refuse to put it on.
18. I only wear slip on shoes. When I was 13 I was going down a rot iron spiral stair case at a friends cabin, and I cut my heal down to the tendon. I was left with a c shaped scar on the back of my foot, and regular shoes how hurt to wear, after all these years of scar tissue. It hasn't always been this way, just in the last few years!!!
19. I've never fully dyed my hair. I've put high lights in twice, but never dyed it. My natural hair color has blonde, auburn, brown, light brown, and many more colors naturally, so I find no need to do so!!!
20. I grow my hair out long enough to cut off 10 inches for locks of love. I go through this cycle every year. Its very rewarding!!!!
BONUS (because I just thought of a few more!)
21. On my moms side of the family, we have 5 generations living. My great grandma, my grandma, my mom, me, and my children. My great grandma is doing well still, and is actually rather young to be a great great grandma if you ask me! If I'm not mistaken she's in her 80's. When Dallas and Gabe were born, they actually had 3 great great grandmas alive!!
22. Dallas is named after my grand father, Dallas, who passed away when I was 13. Dallas would have been his first great grand child. I miss him SO much. He was the glue holding the family together, and not a day goes by that I don't think of him, and wish that I'd had the opportunity to introduce him to Todd, and let him meet my kiddos.
23. I have a mini collection of nice jewelry. My husband discovered Goodman Jewelers, and I have several nice pieces from there. More than someone who's 26 years old should I guess! I'm spoiled, what can I say!
24. I'm deathly affraid of spiders. SUPER affraid of them.
25. I used to work in a hospital, drawing blood, doing EKG's, and working nights on the cardiac step down unit. I will some day return to the medical field. I would love to be an ultrasound tech working with the perinatologists, doing level 2 ultrasounds on the high risk mama's.
Ok, I think thats all!!!!!! Hope that helps those of you who were curious get to know me better!!!

VERY cool to get to know you better!! great post!
Those are great! Thanks for sharing! I also play the clarinet! How funny! My dad actually brought it over a year or so ago after he found it while cleaning out my old room...i totally forgot how to play it. I think i can play jingle bells...and that is it! That is so nice that you donate your hair to locks of love...i wish i could...but my hair just doesn't grow very quickly. I mean...it grows VERY VERY SLOWLY!
O yeah, one more thing...i'm totally the same about getting up every night to pee after i had children. WEIRD! I just can't go all night like i used to be able to do. UGH!
Have a good night!
Great job Jamie, you way outdid yourself on this one! Awesome info, it made me think of so much more too. We have 5 generations on my mom's side too. But not because anyone lives extraordinarily long. It's the 21 year trend LOL.
Hope you guys are having a great day over there!
