What to wear, what to wear?

Tonight is going to be a rather interesting night. Tonight (and yes, I realize I'm giving away our age here, that many of you may not have realized before!) is Todd's 10 year class reunion. Todd was very insistent on going, so we're going. I'm actually rather nervous about the whole thing. MANY of these people we haven't seen in 10 years, since he graduated from high school. There are a few we've kept in touch with via myspace, and email, but not actually seen. And we're supposed to show up, and just have a good time? Oh this is SOOOOOO out of my comfort zone. I guess times like this are when I should be thankful that I have a very outgoing, very social husband. I can sail through on his coat tails I guess. I don't know what's happened to me. This kind of thing never used to worry me. The only thing I can think is that since I've become a stay at home mom I've slipped farther and farther from the adult world, and unless you're talking Elmo, potty training, or Nintendo DS, I'm lost!!! No, all kidding aside, I have developed a slight social phobia since I've been home. And I know that tonight, no doubt, will test it some!!!!

The plans for tonight are to have Matt and Sara watch the kids while we go. They're doing a social hour from 6-7, a sit down dinner at 7, and then they have a DJ, with dinner, dancing, and drinks till midnight. Neither Todd or I are dancers, let alone in a crowd like that, so we won't be partaking in that end of things. But we are hoping to catch back up with a few people, and visit. I don't think it'll be too late of a night, since Matt and Sara don't usually take the kids, and its a lot to go from 2 to 6, vs us going from 4 to 6. So I hope to come back and rescue her early. Todd says we'll see!!!

But that brings me to my question of all questions. . . WHAT ON EARTH DO I WEAR???? Its a reunion with people we haven't seen, which means many haven't seen me in my new. . .ummm. . .fuller size. I don't have anything that I think I look spectacular in, let alone to "re debut" in. I think my bed will be FULL of clothes later in search of the perfect thing to wear. Oh, and Todd told me today when I asked if there was something specific he wanted to wear (in case it was in the wash!) "you just pick something out for me that you think I look good in!" Double the pressure man! Gotta dress me AND him? Yikes!!!

Oh, and on top of all that I have to pack today to go to my parents camper tomorrow. We're going for just one night for a family get together up there. I'm really excited, but it'll be A LOT of work to set everything up for just one night!!!

Wish us luck! I have a feeling its going to be an adventure!

(Oh, and if you're doing the math: Todd is 28, and I'm just 2 1/2 weeks shy of 27. And again, if you're doing the math, we were married at 19 and 20, and had Dallas at 19 and 21. Had Gabe at 22 and almost 21, and the twins at 24 and almost 23! )

I hope you guys have fun at the reunion! Ryan and I didn't like people we went to school with so I don't think class reunions are in our future lol! Hard to imagine how we ended up married- he was such a geek in high school and he's always saying how I was "such a prep" (what does that even mean?!). If I had to pick something out though, I'd probably be wearing jeans and the shirt that feels the coolest (seriously since having kids I'm about 10 degrees warmer than I ever used to be).

Totally get the social aspect, I can talk to my kids all day long but to another adult? I don't know.

Let us know how it goes!!

Hope the reunion goes/went well! We went to both Paul's and my 10 year reunions and I honestly had more fun at his! Part of that was b/c he's still really close with one of his friends and his wife and I get along, so we at least had each other to hang out with. Plus he had a MUCH smaller class than I graduated with, so most people knew each other. At mine, I hadn't kept in touch with hardly anyone (I honestly hung out more with friends in the grade older than me, so not a lot of friends in my class), plus we had a poor turnout and the venue stunk...so we did not enjoy my reunion much at all. Not sure we'll go to the next one.
