My weekend. . . sigh. Will things EVER let up?

I'm just really starting to wonder if I'll get to the point where things aren't full of drama all the time. This last weekend was hectic to say the least. Friday Sara and I took the kids to the local swimming pond. It was a BEAUTIFUL day to go, the kids had a blast, and as usual, it was wonderful to hang out with Sara. I forgot my camera, so you'll have to make due with a few cell phone quality pictures of that:

This is the pond. Its maximum depth is 6 feet, and only on a very small part. The rest averages 4 feet depth. Its filtered water and is vertually as clean as a swimming pool minus the chlorine. You can buy a family season pass for 20.00, and and once you've done that, up to 6 people can swim for free. They have gigantic umbrealla's all around it, and you have to get out of the water every hour on the hour for mandatory safety breaks. The kids usually don't mind, because they swim so hard that they snack each break. One of their favorites is watermelon. A nice snack to have once you get out of the water!!!

Here's my monkey Kaleb. This is one of the towels I got a few weeks back that I told you all about, for 2.98. They're AWESOME for sand beaches because they're short enough to not drag in the sand!!!

And my monkey Princess Kendyl!!! She LOVES swimming!!! Then, Saturday was scheduled to take down a couple of dead Ash trees in our yard so that we wouldn't get a fine from the city. We were sent a notice, told we had 10 days to get it taken care of, or be subject to a 1,000 dollar fine, 90 days in jail, and a misdemeanor. Yeah, a bit extreme? LOTS of people got this notice I guess as a threat to get people to take the trees down in a hurry. My dad, brother, and grandpa came over, as did Todds dad, and brother. Everything was going well, and as planned. . .as you can see here:

Thats my brother up the ladder, and Todd on the roof below him.

Contemplating, and pulling so that the branch will go down as planned. That is from left to right: My father in law, My grandfather, and my dad. I think my brother in law is in there somewhere too? I don't know.
And then after some work, and me going in to take care of a few things in the house, etc. There was this gigantic earth saking boom on the house. I went FLYING to see what was wrong and was met by my husband at the door asking if I was ok. Aparently everyone wanted to leave one particular branch on the tree, except my father in law. And he's a stubborn pig headed ass when it comes to things like this, so they did it. . .and wouldn't you know, the f-ing thing landed ON. MY. HOUSE!?!?!?!?! It hit on the kitchen, popped the cover off o my kitchen light and shattered that, and shook seasonings out of my cupboard above my stove. It could have been worse on the inside, but thankfully it wasn't.

Here is the picture from the side of the house
Getting the chain saws to cook down a bit. It was so hot that the gas was BOILING people. It was that bad!!!
My grandpa "helping"! He was a great help at keeping that chain in that spot all afternoon!!!
My dad, my brother, and my hubby!!
This is the portion they cut down after the part landed on my roof. The cut off section there closest to this side is where the branch SHOULD have been attatched if they did it everyone else's way. it wouldn't have hit anything, and would have been FINE!!!
The damage to the roof. I guess its mostly superficial fixes, and something that can be done in an hour or so. But still. They dropped a TREE on my roof.

Contemplating the other tree, before just saying forget it, we'll get it another day, we're too tired!!

Then Sunday was a family reunion. I have pictures, but won't post them cause other peoples kids are in them, and I won't do that!!!

That was my weekend in a nutshell. . fun huh?

could you have packed anymore into your weekend?! LOL I would have went ballistic if someone dropped a tree on my roof! So glad it isn't damaged badly. I love the swimming pond. That is so cool that they have mandatory breaks, and the price is awesome! Can't wait to see pics from the family reunion!

I am so glad that branch didn't cause more damage and that everyone was okay! Sounds like you were super busy over the weekend ;)

Oh no! Glad no one got hurt at least, but I'd be ticked, too! That pond sounds nice!

Tell the man he's an ass and do it your way :P

Sorry the tree fell on your house, but glad it wasn't worse (which it could've been!).

Can I come to the pond with you??
