What a MESS!!!

Yikes. Things have been so busy here, there hasn't been time to breathe!!! But I wanted to update on a couple of things. First off, is that Dallas had his ADD recheck on Wednesday. The doctor is very pleased to hear how its working for him, and what the school saw for a difference in him! We still have to go to the cardiologist, even though we found out what kind of cardiomyopathy that Curt (my brother) has. He has Dialated Idiopathic Cardiomyopathy with tachicardia. Its not supposed to be hereditary according to what they docs told him, but after some research the doctor found that in 20-50% of cases it can be. So we still need the appointment to make sure Dallas is covered. Especially considering the meds he's on.

And today was the measuring his eye appointment. We went to a clinic that isn't our normal eye clinic, because its the only place they do this particular measuring. It was about 30 minutes from home. We got there early, and thank God we did, because they didn't tell me how to find the darn place once I was in the building. We wandered, and finally went into a random office and asked. Once we were on the right place, things went quickly. But we were in getting measured, and I could tell from the man doing the measuring that something wasn't going as he'd hoped. He finished, and informed me that the cataract was too dense to measure the depth of the eye and that we'd have to go to a different clinic to get this different measurment thing done. The different clinic was about 15 minutes from the one we were at, so we headed off for there.

We got there, and were ushered right in. This test was NOT a fun one. They put numbing, drying drops in Dallas's eye. Then They had to put this little cup thingy ON his eye, and shoot water into his eye while he looked at this red laser. The point of this one was to measure the curvature of the eye. They had to do this to BOTH eyes. It was a struggle and a fight. Because of course he couldn't blink, and the red lazer hurt his eye to look right at, and he's SEVEN! He whined and complained, and said he didn't want to, even though he was doing what they were asking. Needless to say, I'm glad that's over!!!

Monday is his pre op, and then Thursday is his surgery, at 7:30 am.

Other than that we've been hanging with family, and trying to recover from our camping trip. And for those of you who know whats going on, and are following, the offer went in on the house yesterday. We should have an answer back within the next month, since we're working with a bank owned house.

Hope everyone is all doing well!!!

Poor Dallas :(. You know me and my eyeball issues... that would've killed me to watch. Are they going to put him under for the surgery, or does he have to be awake? Give him some extra hugs for me......

I'm sending you TONS of luck on the house thing. Is this the same one that we'd talked about? Why the delay in putting in the offer(last we talked on the phone I thought you'd said that you guys were putting it in then... I could be mistaken.) Just curious, since we haven't talked in forever.

Yep, they'll be putting him out. Not sure how long the surgery will be, but he'll be out.

And I didn't have to watch the eye stuff. Most of it was lasers, where he just did the put the chin on the rest, and look at the light. The touching the eye thing I was sitting behind the dr dude, and didn't have to watch.

Oh wow! that sounds just awful for Dallas! What a terrible test for a little boy!
I am adding Dallas to my prayer list and will be thinking of him next week.
