Ever had the thought. . .

That you had better enjoy EVERY second because you'll never get this day back? It really is interesting to think about. Every second that ticks away, is another moment you'll never have back with your kids. Its not something that eats at me greatly or something. But when those moments hit, where everything just seems so right, and so perfect, I have a tendency to look around and realize that my children will never again be this exact age, and we will never again have this exact moment back. And its just something that catches me off guard, and sometimes gets me a little emotional. And then I think about the times that I've had to discipline my kids, and I realize wow. . .those moments don't come back either, and if I did it wrong, or not how I should have, and in that second, its gone. The words have been said, the actions taken, and its over. I'm very thankful that there are more good moments than bad, but man, thinking like that can really change you! It makes me realize how every second I waste on something like a movie, is another second I can't get back with them in their growing early years!!!

Last night was one of those moments for me, when we decided to cut Todd's hair, and I joked around that I should give him a Mohawk like the boys want. We had EVERYONE in our kitchen watching daddy get his Mohawk (Todd is going to use it for a church video shoot this week, so he agreed!) and the buzz that was in the air was amazing. Everyone was happy, everyone was excited, and everyone was together.

I had to go get my camera out to take some pictures.

Todd and his tough boys!!!!

My boys are getting so grown up!! And they all looked so tough with their Mohawks!!!
And its "red" thank you very much, not pink. Because boys don't WEAR pink Mohawks. Just ask them!!!
Gabriel showing off his karate moves!

Can you just hear the "ummmm. . ." that goes along with this picture??

Dallas after his bath last night! Todd said the caption for this one should be
"POOF"
Because that's what it did after the bath! POOF!

Kendyl was feeling a little left out, so mommy and Kendyl took a few pictures too!!

This is what we say to boys with Mohawks!!!

So tough, so strong, yet so cute!!!!

One last one me and my princess!

Now I'm off to enjoy all those seconds ticking by with my amazingly wonderful kiddos!!!

( oh, and for those that notice Dallas looks really good, he FEELS really good, and we had him take the shield off for pictures and a bath. He still needs it day and night for the next two weeks, and then just at night after that for the next month! Its really hard to keep him still when he feels ok!!!)

Aww those pictures are so sweet! I love the ones of you and Kendyl, I am usually the one behind the camera so I usually forget about those ones.

I agree that those moments can really stop you in your tracks. I think now how fast the newborn stage was and it makes me really sad. Then I realize that they are so much fun now as opposed to then. I need to have those moments when I am picking up 2 million toys off the playroom floor or trying to rationalize with a 1.5 year old that 8:00 really is bedtime. Ryan often realizes it and lets them be up because they won't want to do it forever. I just forget and it makes me sad to reflect.

I gave you a blog award on my page!
