Two for Twos-day!!

Today's two-some has to be dedicated to my husband, and his drums. Now, that being said I have to admit that this is an old picture of him, and the drums he was playing in this picture are WAY long gone, but its still him, doing what he loves best. Playing music. The reason that I'm dedicating it to this this week is that tonight I get to go and listen to him play with a group he's been playing with for a little while now. He says its nothing special, just some guys getting together having fun and playing around, but still. I get to see him doing what he loves. And I love watching him have that much fun! They're playing a gig tonight in honor of "The day the music died". Today is the anniversary of the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Richy Valenz, The big bopper, etc. It will be a show soley consisting of oldies music, not really my thing, but he's having fun and I'll happily go listen!!!

If you'd like in on the two-some fun, head on over to Eight is Great.

Mommy moment Monday

My mommy moment this week, well, moments this week are revolving around sleep. The first one is Dallas. I ALWAYS go in and re-tuck my kiddos in before I go to bed. And last night I just had to go grab my camera and take a picture of Dallas. Todd and I had just been talking about how grown up he's getting. He's getting so tall, and he's just seeming so much more mature. And then I walked into his room last night and was brought back to him being a bitty little guy. When I was pregnant with Gabe we were shopping at the Disney store. And Dallas fell in love with this pooh bear "blanket". So we got him one, and its been his constant companion ever since. Its seen its share of puke, and tears, surgery's and sleepless nights. Pooh has had many new "shirts" put on, and always had his "tail" replaced as it was originally. (the shirt is the yellow part in the picture below. The "tail" as Dallas calls it is the soft satin trim at the bottom of the shirt that always has to be replaced) And as one would expect, as Dallas ages pooh becomes less and less of an important item in his life. Pooh always resides in his bed, but it is hit or miss if he needs him for sleeping any more. It is no longer like it once was, where if Pooh wasn't there, Dallas didn't sleep. But last night. . .last night I walked in and saw my baby, my baby all snuggled up with his beloved pooh bear and it took me back. How could I not take a picture of that? Sleeping soundly with his pooh bear whispering secrets of times past and adventures shared into his ear and blessing him with good dreams.

My other moment comes from last night again. . .or should I say early this morning? It was 1:30, so I guess it would be early this morning. Either way, there was a tiny voice at the gate on my door. (the gate is there for the dogs, not the kids!) It was a small voice that didn't have to get above a whisper, and I was awake. This tiny voice was telling me that "an accident had happened." And I knew just who it was. Kendyl has been potty trained for quite some time now. But we've always gone with pampers pull ups at night time, because in my experience there is no greater let down for a kiddo than being proud to be trained but still pee the bed. Well, she's been so consistantly dry that I've been letting her go to bed in her big girl undies. But last night the accident happened. I got up immediately after hearing her little voice. And she'd obviously already been up for a few minutes. She had all her wet clothes off, she'd emptied her bed of wet things, and she was just looking for assistance changing the sheets on her bed. Luckily just a little bit of reassurance was all it took to let her know that it wasn't her fault, and that she was ok. We got her bed made back up, warm jammies back on, and tucked back in. And I headed back to bed with a smile on my face. I love having a little girl. They're so different than little boys. Had that been one of the boys, they would have layed there crying and expected me to do all the changing, cleaning, I mean EVERYTHING. They would have played it off as too tired to do anything themselves. And here my little girl was. Taking care of it all on her own. Now, I don't expect her to. But the fact was she just wanted it done so she could get back to sleep!!! What a sweet sweet little girl.

Praying for Tuesdays family.

My prayers are with Tuesday's family right now as they find their way through the days and months ahead after the loss of their precious baby girl. They are experiencing something no parent should ever have to feel, and no sibling should ever have to endure.

Please pray for them.

Do you know what this is????

The pictures below that is. . . .. .

YES!!! That's right! PROGRESS!!! Now, things aren't going in quite the order I'd hoped, I'd hoped that they'd prime the wall before putting in the cabinets, but because they're doing under cabinet lighting they needed to put in the uppers, and there was some framing they had to do on the lowers so they could run some more electrical. But any which way you put it, its PROGRESS!!! So excited! My new kitchen will be AWESOME!!!!

This is the pantry. Its a 24 inch pantry. I look forward to having all that SPACE!!!!

This is where the fridge will go. We're hoping to get a side by side for there. Its a 36 inch opening so its big enough for it!

The back wall. Lots of storage! WOO HOO!!! This is the wall where the stove and the microwave will go in.

THat corner, if you'll remember used to be a door way that really made the kitchen feel cramped. Now it offers much better use of space!!!
This is the sink side of things!!!! There is a nice corner cabinet there. They have to build out the back of that because it isn't as deep. SO they'll need to make it flush before they can finish it off with electrical on the back side of the peninsula.
That is where the sink will go
And this area has to have some minor framing put in so that they can make space for a dish washer!!!
Oh. . .and as far as electrical progress goes? Yep, there are lights going in everywhere! Its AWESOME!!!

I was promised big progress by the end of this week. . .and I'd say they delivered!!! I'm so excited!

Way back Whens-day

Its Wednesday yet again. Wow, the weeks are flying! Either way, its time for some more way back fun! If you'd like to get in on it, head on over to Cheryl's blog and play along!!!

My way back this week has to be a series again. I was going through some of my older pictures, and came across these. This was from my brothers birthday in 2007. My mom got him an ice cream cake, and guess what? Twins at the age of 20 months wear it well! This is what happened when they were just EATING it. There was no painting on themselves, just innocent markings from the frosting while eating, I swear!!!!! And do you realize how much that frosting STAINS??? You do when its on 2 babies and stains their skin!!!

He looks like he's put on his war paint and is ready for battle? Wait, we're talking Kaleb
here, more like he's put on his CLOWN'S makeup and is ready for the show!
He is such a goof!

As you can see, she enjoyed her cake as well!

Hey Kaleb. . . you seem to have something on your face right there!!!

Look who's talking Kendyl!!! You have it on your face too!!!

Ready. . .. set. . .. DUMP!!!

The best part about these was the fact that they could see it on each other, but they didn't think they had any on their own face! IT was so fun to watch them through this experience!!!!

Tagged!

Gill tagged me for this one, so I'm going to give it a go!

The rules:

1. Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

2. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.

3. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

4. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and to read your blog.

5. For the recipients, leave a comment for the person who tagged you, so they can go and read your answers.

***********************

Wow, 8 random facts.. . .this is something that's getting increasingly harder!!! But I'll give it my best go!!

1. I love jewelry. I have a nice little collection from my husband over the years and I rotate between them. But there are a few staples: My wedding ring, and my diamond bracelet that he surprised me with.

2. I have my ears pierced twice in each ear, but I don't change out my earrings. They're always the same ones.

3. I have incredibly sensitive skin. So much so to the point that I use baby soap for body wash, and baby lotion for my lotion. Unfortunately it appears that my children have inherited this.

4. I plan some day to do foster care, and possibly adopt. I don't know how far down the road it will be for us, but this is something we've talked about doing, and plan to do in the future when we can.

5. My dream job would be going to school to be an ultrasound tech. I'd love to work in the perinatologists office and work with the high risk mamas like I was. Doing the level two ultrasounds. Unfortunately because of how poorly I do in college courses that are simply test based (I have never tested well in my life. I blank on the test) chances are this dream will never come true.

6. My favorite place on earth is Copper Harbor Michigan. I LOVE it there. My family and I used to go there every other summer when I was little, and spend two weeks. Its a place that is so near and dear to my heart. I hope some day to take my children there.

7. My husband is only the second guy I ever dated!! Guess I got really lucky off the get go huh? I only dated one other man before Todd, and yeah, what a joke. I was lucky enough to find my perfect husband in high school. AND lucky enough that I didn't have to kiss a lot of toads to find my prince charming! Just had to kiss one Todd!

8. I love writing snail mail letters. LOVE It! There's nothing better than sending and receiving a letter from a friend or family member!

Ok, now the tagging part. . .hmm. This one is hard for me. So I'm going to leave this open ended. If you're reading this and would like to play along, please feel free!!!!

Two for Twos-day!!!

Again, gonna have to go with the Auntie theme today!!! My little baby niece was born yesterday!!! SO I thought I'd share some pictures of little Miss Bridgit Cameryn with some of the most important people in her life!!!!

Here is Bridgit meeting her mommy. This isn't too terribly long after she was born.

This is Bridgit and her daddy (Todd's brother) yesterday afternoon.
And here she is with big brother Kyle. Kyle is my sister in laws son from her first marriage, but to all of us he's just our nephew/grandson/etc.
