Its SNOWING!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I'm not ready for snow! I'm not ready for cold! Can't we just have a couple more months of warm, sunny days? I was supposed to be moved WELL before the snow flew. And I'm not. That's a huge downer. But most of all, I'm not ready for the dreary landscape that encompasses us during the winter months! I'm not ready to be almost to Thanksgiving, let alone Christmas. I'm just not ready!!!

Time is just going WAY WAY WAY too fast!!!

1 step forward, 2 steps back.

This is how you do the house polka!!! At least in this house when you're talking about progress on the new house!!! Yesterday the plumbing inspector came out. The goal was for him to look at the progress they made, ok it, and then discuss what he would allow them to do next. Y eah. It didn't go so well, and there will now be some RE doing, all because he wasn't very clear on the first go round. Sigh. Its so frusterating. This was supposed to be one big hurdle we were able to FLY over, and then we could move forward and get that much closer to MOVING. Now they have to back track some, and then go from there.

Here are some pictures of the progress lately.

This is the ONE part of the plumbing that doesn't need something done to it! Its perfectly fine!!!
This has to have a small piece flipped, but other than that, its ok. You see the inspectors drawings on the wall? Yeah, thats what they've been going off.
This is the kitchen, with its big gigantic hole. there is more to fix in this mess.

The next two are Kalebs room all torn apart ready to paint.

THERE'S PAINT ON THE WALLS! WOO HOO!!! Light blue on the top , darker on the bottom.

The trim for the built ins is the dark color, the drawers, the light color, and the knobs will be the dark color! Should look really cute!!!

Kendyl's room. All done being painted!!! Dark purple on the lower, light on the upper!
Her dresser drawers were in REALLY REALLY rough shape. We'll have to do some fixing on those before they can be painted, and put back in.
It was a bit of an upsetting day, to take that step back, when I was all geared up for good news. But they're working on the problem, and hopefully it will only be forward going from here.

Way back When-sday!

As you can tell from the picture above, this is my wonderful husband Todd, putting out a "We support our Troops" sign. We put this out the day my brother Curt left for what we could only assume would be Iraq. He couldn't tell us where his final destination would be, only that he was heading out on "float" and would call us as he could. We got several pictures along the way via email, things like him, with the United Arab Emirates (sp?) in the back ground. And we had a very strong clue that he was indeed headed to the middle east to be part of the first batch of troops deployed "in case there were to be need for war". This had only solidified the tears I'd had when George W. Bush was elected. I cried, because my brother had just gone into the Marines the July before, and I KNEW if he was elected that it meant we'd be heading off to war. I just knew. And I feared for my brother. He was only 18, and I knew that if he indeed had to go to war, it would live with him the rest of his life. And here we were, watching the news knowing he was there, and not knowing what that meant for his future. As it turns out, my brother was there, on the front lines when the war started. And he survived through two tours of duty before being medi-vaced out to Germany because he had been blacking out. We would later find out that he had a heart condition called Dilated Cardiomyopathy. He had his ejection fraction tested, and was just a few numbers above the heart transplant list. He was able to come back some, with meds, and taking it easy, but his life has forever been changed by this. Not only because of the war, but because of the little souvineir he got from the military. The closest they could figure is that it may have come from one of the vaccinations that he received before heading off to Iraq. It may have some how attacked his heart.

So, this week, I'm dedicating my way back to the troops, and the long standing support that there is for them in this household. I know the pain of a family waiting to hear from their loved one. I know the terror in hearing that your loved one is being sent to Germany, and you don't get to know why. And I also know the relief in hearing that they're really ok, and will be coming home. Its not easy having family in the military, so I not only dedicate this to them, but to their families, and all they have to endure to help their soldier through the hard times.

This is all coming on the coat tails of the election results. I really truly hope that we as a country can now unify and stand behind our future president and give him the best chance to do the most he can for our country. We've all asked for change, in some form or another. And this is the change we've been given. I look forward to seeing what the next four years will hold for this man we've chosen to lead our country. I just hope that these deep divide lines that were there before the elections can lessen, and that we just all move forward in a better direction together!!!!

I know he's talked of change for our troops, and I think in this time, as much as any, we need to make sure that they know we're standing behind them 110%!!!!

Mommy moment Monday- It sure is fun to have twins!!!

My mommy moment this week happened on Halloween!!!! All of my kiddos did awesome this year, and it was MUCH more successful than last year. There weren't as many buckets of candy tipped, their manners were remembered when it came time to say "Thank you!" and all in all they just did a wonderful job. I was really proud of them!!!

BUT! My mommy "awwwww" moment came when we were just about back to my moms house and we gave the bigger boys permission to go a couple houses ahead of where we were, and we walked very slowly with Kaleb and Kendyl, and my niece Kristen. Kaleb and Kendyl started walking together, and they were talking, sharing, and putting their heads together. At one point Kendyl had her arm around Kaleb. It was just SO cute!!! I just watched them, and remembered just how lucky I am to have twins!!!!!

Here are the kiddos. Its the best shot I could get. They were ready to go trick or treating, not have their picture taken!!! Kendyl is eeyore, Kaleb is tigger, Dallas is the red ninja, Gabe is the black ninja.

And here's everyone. The additions are my niece Kristen, who is a bumble bee. And my nephew Kyle, who is an alien!

If you'd like to share your mommy moment on this wonderful Monday, I'd happily post to you here, just let me know you're playing in my comments!!!

Two for Twos-day- Halloween Style!

Another Halloween theme. Gotta get them all in before Halloween on Friday!!!! So my appologies for there being a few today! It'll make sense once I explain them!!!

Here's my Two some(s) this week:
Here are Kaleb and Kendyl last Halloween as Piglet and Pooh! Dallas and Gabe had these costumes made for them by Todd's grandma when they were that little. I was all too happy to reuse them on the twins!!

Here is Gabriel as Piglet! Wow has he changed!! He was about 15 months in this picture. Kendyl was just over 2 when she wore it, just to show you the size difference and just how LITTLE she is!!!
Here is Dallas as Pooh Bear. He would have been. . .Oh, about 2 1/2 in this picture. I love the little padded tummy! SO cute!!!

And this picture, is just a preview of what's to come for Kaleb and Kendyl THIS year! Gabe was eeyore, and Dallas was tigger. Kalebs been waiting for a couple years to fit tigger since tigger is his all time favorite!! Kendyl will be wearing eeyore. She's most excited about the pink ears, and the pink bow on the tail! It must be a girl thing!

Sorry, was a bit rambly! If you'd like to play, head on over to Eight it Great and join in on the fun!!!
