This last weekend we went up north to Todd's family cabin. There was a party going on there for Todds great Aunt and Uncle who own the cabin. It was their 60th wedding anniversary. Todd was invited to come and play his guitar, mandolin, etc with all the other muscians that were to be there. So, we figured what the heck, and we went. It was a 4 hour drive. We left Thursday after Todd got home, and arrived up at the cabin at 8:00 pm. We had enough time to get the tent set up, unpack, and then work on getting the kids to bed. By the time Todd and I got into bed we were beat. We'd sat up visiting for a while. Sometime in the night, I woke up to Dallas crying. I asked him what was wrong, and he said he had to go to the bathroom, and didn't know where to go, and has messed his underwear. He was VERY upset. I took him out to the outhouse, and tried to clean him up as best as I could being that tired, with no running water to work with, and it being that late at night. I got him tucked back in, and went back to bed. I woke up a little while later to Kendyl crying. Turns out she was cold. So I pulled two boys over next to her, and snuggled them all in together so she could share their heat. I woke up to all the kids very early that morning, with Kendyl in my bed. She'd come and crawled in with me. That morning Gabe informed me he'd peed his pants, for the same reasons as Dallas. So, I headed next door in search of their laundry machines so I could wash some clothes. The day was full of fun events, like tubing, fishing, playing in the water, and even a trip to town for my sister in law Sara and I!!! Todd and I headed to bed pretty late, but sat up talking, and enjoying listening to the loons sing. It was so pretty, and peaceful. The kids had a much better night, and it wasn't as cold. That plus they were pretty beat to begin with!! the next morning We were woken up very early by my brother in law. He'd come out of the cabin they were borrowing (we were staying right next door to where all the festivities were to take place!) to let his dog out. He proceeded to walk over, unzip our tent part way, and try to let our dogs out as well. Of course, this woke all of our kids up. This was the day of the big party. It turns out that Todds great uncle had a surprise for his wife of 60 years. A wedding renewal!! It was so sweet! It was very simple, very short, and both the "bride and groom" were in tears! There was great food, lots of family, and again, playing in the water, and having a great time!!!
The next two days are a blur, so I won't go into all the details of those. But I will say we got in last night at about 7:00 pm, and we're BEAT! Todd headed back to work today, and I've been at the computer for HOURS today trying to get all the pictures up to send to people. HOURS people!!! thats just NUTS!!!!!
So, without further ado, here are the pictures from the weekend. There are alot of them, so bear with me!!!
This is the kids playing before we left. The boys were playing tansformers, so Kendyl went to get something to play along with them!! She grabbed her tinkerbell, and was spraying them with pixy dust so they could fly! It was so cute!!
This is one eye willie. One of Todd's cousins dogs. He was injured by his mom as a puppy on accident. Willie and I made friends. He was an awesome dog!
From Left to right: Todd's second cousin Brent, His great Aunt June, HIs great uncle Roy, and his second cousin Marla. (marla and brent are two of June and roys 7 kids.)
The reason we were all there! Thats her original wedding veil! Notice the shirts, they say "June and Roy's 50th Wedding anniversary" But ther 50 is crossed out, and 60 is written in!!
The path to the outhouse. If you look far enough, you can see it way back there in the distance!
Here comes Miss Kendyl

looks like you all had a great time! The lake is awesome. I can't wait til the boys are older an we can do some camping.
wow! Looks like quite an adventure! The tubing looks sooo much fun! And a beautiful site to camp at! Glad you had a good trip and made it home safe and sound! Good luck unpacking and getting back into your daily life!
What a great campsite, the lake looks so pretty! I have always wanted to go tubing behind a boat but my mom never let us and hubby can't swim so I doubt that I'll ever get to do it now. Kendyl always looks like she is up to something in the pics, that sneaky smile is adorable!
Great pics as always, hope the transition back to "normal" goes smoothly!
What an amazing, exhausting time! It makes me tired reading it. What a pretty setting you were in. Your kids are darling! Kendyl looks so much like you - a blonde you. I love the picture of her with tinkerbell and the boys with their boy toys!
Get some rest. Sounds like you need it!
I forgot to mention in my email that that little Kristen totally has the St.H look. She got her daddy's genes, that's for sure.
How did M and S get a cabin, and you guys(with twice the amt of kids AND dogs) ended up in a tent.
We need to chat soon! If I have a minute today, I'll give you a yell, but I'm not sure if I'll get the chance later. Either way, we WILL talk next week. I'm going to need all the support I can get with school shopping happening next week.
